The Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Center and Interfraternity Council peer educators hosted keynote speaker Jackson Katz as part of a week dedicated to the White Ribbon Campaign, a movement dedicated to the progression of gender equality, healthy relationships and an inclusive version of masculinity.
Katz is the founder of a gender violence prevention program called Mentors in Violence Prevention, which focuses mainly on the military and athletic organizations. He has previously appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC News’ 20/20 and Good Morning America.
The event was free and open to the public. Katz presented to a packed room, and many students sat along the wall after all chairs were filled.
