The Tigers’ offense struck fast as freshman running back Damarea Crockett ran to the end zone on Missouri’s first offensive possession to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead to start the game. Crockett would finish the night with two records never before set by a freshman. With 225 yards rushing for the game, Crockett brought his yard total for the season to a record of 1,062 yards with one game still left to play against Arkansas on Black Friday.
However, the Volunteers would quickly run away with the game, ultimately winning with a final score of 63–37. Tennessee junior quarterback Joshua Dobbs threw for 413 total yards of offense, accounting for five of Tennessee’s nine touchdowns.
