Rapper Sammy Adams returns to The Blue Note for his Senioritis tour.
####The lowdown
Sammy Adams will return to Columbia on Feb. 28 for the second time in less than a year. His last visit in September 2016 was before he started his three-month Senioritis tour.
Tickets for the show are $17 in advance and $20 the day of the show. The show starts at 8 p.m. and doors open at 7 p.m.
International artist Cris Cab and local band The Motel Brothers are also performing.
####The artists
Samuel Adams Wisner, aka Sammy Adams, is a 29-year old out of Cambridge, MA. He raps about college life, parties and his Boston roots. His style is different from other young rappers because he also sings frequently in his music. His most recent album, _The Long Way_, was released in March 2016.
Self-proclaimed reggae-pop artist Cristian Cabrerizo, aka Cris Cab, has been on tour with Lorde, Bastille and Trey Songz during his career, but his biggest fan base is his international following in the Netherlands and Italy.
Local band The Motel Brothers was created by fraternity brothers Jack Fargotstein and Jeremy Schmetterer. They were influenced by notable artists like Ed Sheeran and Chance the Rapper and released their debut EP _Crossing Maryland_ in May 2016.
####Noteworthy tunes
**“All Night Longer”** by Sammy Adams
This song is energetic and has a catchy beat, but it’s a mixture of One Direction’s “Up All Night” and the rest of Adams’s music, featuring drinking and sex. If you’re a reformed Directioner and love partying, check him out.
**“Blow Up”** by Sammy Adams
This song’s beginning features the intro to “Where is My Mind” by The Pixies, but that is where the similarities end. One of Adams’s better songs, it pulls ties to his Boston roots. His song “Waste” is a follow-up of sorts, and is about celebrities using their platform to change the world, a commentary about how he finally made it big.
**“Summertime”** by Sammy Adams
“Summertime” is a parody of his song “I Hate College” and both songs are party jams. The beats and lyrics are very similar (i.e. exactly the same beat), so whether you’re partying over the summer or during syllabus week, these songs will be your drunk jams.
**“Colors”** by Cris Cab ft. Mike Posner
This song is a slower version of your typical Sammy Adams song, but Cab uses an emotional message about someone’s true “colors”. Cab’s music features love with the same intensity that Adams’ features college parties in his music.
**“Good Girls”** by Cris Cab ft. Big Sean
Cris Cab’s music is a unique genre, described as reggae-pop, and his voice reminds me of Sublime. This song in particular is a testament to his variety, going from rapping to singing melodies. Big Sean is a plus, too.
**“I Want You to Know”** by The Motel Brothers
There’s nothing better than great local music, and The Motel Brothers definitely live up to the expectations. This song off of their _Crossing Maryland_ EP is seriously beautiful and I added it to my ‘quiet and catchy’ Spotify playlist.

While he never actually finishes the phrase, “all she needed was some…,” listeners can make their own assumptions. This song seems to hint that it’s a phrase said by ‘the worst guys.’ This song is an interest commentary on men who assume what girls need.
