The FBS leader in touchdown passes for the 2017 season is returning to Missouri.

Junior quarterback Drew Lock announced via Twitter that he will return for his senior season, declining to enter the NFL draft early.
Lock starred in Missouri’s 7-6 season, throwing for 3,964 yards and 44 touchdowns. His play garnered national attention from both the media and NFL scouts.
He broke the Southeastern Conference’s single-season record for passing touchdowns, as well as former Missouri standout Chase Daniel’s single-season program record.

Uncertainty regarding Lock’s decision emerged after Lock was advised by the NFL Draft Advisory Board to return to school, but he said he was still considering leaving nonetheless.
Lock’s decision comes as a huge relief to head coach Barry Odom and staff, who, along with recently hired offensive coordinator Derek Dooley, will have one of the nation’s elite passers to work with as Missouri vies for contention in the SEC East next season.
If Lock had left, Missouri would more than likely have to pick between juniors Jack Lowary and Micah Wilson, or freshman Taylor Powell, who have combined just seven games of experience between them.
Lock and the Tigers begin their 2018 campaign against Tennessee-Martin at home on Sept. 1.
