A member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority on the campus of the University of Missouri has tested positive for Covid-19, according to an email sent to chapter members and families, which The Maneater obtained.
The email said the member was in the sorority’s house as recently as Wednesday, and encouraged anyone who visited the house in the last five days to monitor their health, “stay in place” and “limit contact with others” until Aug. 27.
Zeta Tau Alpha officers did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Maneater previously reported confirmed or suspected positive Covid-19 cases in at least two fraternities and is also investigating tips regarding positive cases among other Greek Life chapters.
The newest case arrives as Boone County reached a record high number of cases for the third day in a row Friday. The county recorded 81 new cases – 17 more than Thursday. Fifty-five of the 81 recorded cases were in the 10-24 age range.
