The pop-punk band from Virginia just released its sophomore album, full of upbeat summer anthems reminiscent of Yellowcard’s “Ocean Avenue” or We the Kings’ “Say You Like Me.” The quartet’s winning album “Losers & Kings” is sure to surf its way to the top of the charts with its catchy hit singles “Some Place on Earth” and “Cool Kids.”

Full of high energy and relatable themes of nonconformity and clinging to youth, The Downtown Fiction’s hard-driving tracks will have you turning up the volume and singing along without fail.

Just when you think every song on the album is going to sound the same, your eardrums are struck with the soft sounds of “Right Where We Left Off.” This stripped down, acoustic ballad reveals a much more poignant and mature side to the 24-year-old lead singer and guitarist Cameron Leahy than most fans are used to hearing.

While so many bands’ sophomore albums struggle to deliver songs that rival their firsts, “Losers & Kings” is full of winners.
