The Maneater

Letter from the Director

As The Maneater’s 2025 MOVE Mag Director, I am beyond excited to share MOVE Mag: A Miz-aic.
This year’s digital and print magazine, inspired by the concept that we are mosaics of everything we’ve ever loved, showcases a collection of profiles, features and creative writing. From sentimental recipes to vintage apparel, MOVE Mag displays an array of diverse stories while diving into the complexity of individuality.
The idea that we exist as mosaics is universal to all. Throughout our lives, the people we meet, places we go and experiences we embrace shape us into who we are today. Our pet peeves, favorite foods and fundamental values all reflect an accumulation of outside influences.
Our lives are a vibrant collage, composed of the intricate pieces of things we have loved, currently love or will love – each contributing to a beautifully interwoven mosaic.
While you read, I encourage you to consider your own mosaic. How have your friends and family shaped your passions and perspective on life? What cities or towns affected your upbringing? How do your experiences define who you are?

In a way, this magazine is a mosaic in itself, a work that reflects the diverse talents of its contributors. This publication would not have been possible without the writers, copy editors, graphic designers, photographers, multimedia creators, web team and editorial board members who poured so much into this project. I would also like to thank MOVE Mag Art Director Payton Strobel for her constant dedication and creative expertise throughout this ambitious process.
On behalf of the entire Maneater staff, thank you. We’re all incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share stories with our readers and we appreciate your continued support for student media. It’s been a joy leading the production of MOVE Mag, and I am incredibly proud of the work shown throughout the publication. I can’t wait to see how MOVE Mag will continue to serve as an impactful outlet on campus in years to come.
