Polling Locations
Nov. 5, 2024, marks Election Day in Missouri, where citizens will vote for candidates to assume various local, state, and federal government positions. For Missouri voters who choose to vote in person, it is important to know which polling locations are nearby. Here are the most convenient locations for Missouri residents who attend the University of Missouri or live in the surrounding Columbia area.
Polling Locations in Columbia
Boone County has a large number of polling locations for its residents. For students attending MU, there are six locations close to campus for Election Day.
For MU students who have access to a vehicle, there are a few other polling locations within driving distance.

Drop Boxes in Missouri
Currently, there are no drop box locations available in Missouri. However, you can go to the local election authority and deliver an absentee ballot in person.
What to bring on Election Day
The state of Missouri requires all voters to bring identification in order to vote. Acceptable identification includes the following:
- Current Missouri driver’s license
- A current Missouri non-driver’s license
- A current United States Passport
- An unexpired military ID or veteran’s ID card.
- A current photo ID issued by the U.S. government or the State of Missouri.
For Missouri residents who do not own an acceptable photo ID, the Missouri Department of Revenue can provide a nondriver license free of charge for voting purposes. In order to obtain an ID, one can visit dor.mo.gov or call 573-526-VOTE.
