The Tigers and Jayhawks played in Columbia for the first time in 10 years on Saturday, but the visiting Kansas squad won easily, 95-67. Graduate guards D’Moi Hodge and Nick Honor led the team in scoring with 15 apiece.
Last season’s Border Showdown saw a 102-65 win for the Jayhawks. This year the game will be on Missouri’s home court, and the Tigers are heading in undefeated.
Ahead of their highly anticipated showdown against Kansas, the Tigers held off the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks despite an exceptional performance from the road underdogs.
After beginning its season 5-0, Missouri women’s basketball competed in the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship, earning a win against Wake Forest and falling to Virginia Tech.
