The women’s golf team failed to bring back its late fall success at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Arizona, where it finished tied for 11th out of 17 teams. It was the Tigers’ second worst finish of the 2017-2018 season.

The event was the second all year in which the Tigers failed to break the top half of the leaderboard. The first was the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship in September, where the Tigers finished last of 15 teams.

The poor performance March 5-6 came at an event that featured seven of the top 50 teams nationally, including No. 1 and tournament champion UCLA.

Individually, no one player stood out or performed particularly well. Sophomore Jessica Yuen and junior Emma Allen led the way for Missouri, tying for 30th. Both players, like the team, had solid first rounds but fell off in the final two rounds.

Junior Amanda Kim finished third on the team and tied for 45th overall. Junior Cayce Hendrickson came next in tied for 56th.

Senior Clara Young was the final Tiger; she tied for 62nd. Young’s poor finish came after finishing third at the Florida State Match Up last month.

The Tigers will look to rebound at the Mountainview Collegiate on March 23 back in Tucson.
