####Men arrested on two burglary charges
Two men were involved in a burglary Monday at the Tractor Supply Company on Paris Road. Columbia Police Department officers responded to an alarm at 1:18 a.m. When they arrived on scene, two subjects were within the fenced area, and one was outside the fenced area. All three ran from the officers. Officers pulled over a black Hyundai Elantra that was seen driving by the scene. The car was not registered to the driver, Dakota McDaniel, but to Jared Stark. McDaniel, 19, implicated himself in the burglary and was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary and possession of burglar’s tools. Stark was picked up by officers walking along the road. Stark, 22, was arrested on second-degree burglary charges for the Tractor Supply burglary and another second-degree burglary charge for the Hollywood Theater burglary Sept. 4.
####Police investigate Craigslist robber
The victim placed an ad on Craigslist for electronics and made a deal with the suspect to meet at the 3000 block of Jenne Hill Drive on Monday. During the payment process, the suspect displayed a weapon and demanded money. When the victim refused, the suspect fled from the scene on foot. The victim chased the suspect, but the suspect got into a dark vehicle and traveled in an unknown direction. All that is known about the suspect(s) is that two black males were driving the dark vehicle. The victim was not injured, and no arrests have been made.
####Man violates order of protection
CPD officers arrested Joseph Cooke, 55, Wednesday evening on charges of violating an order of protection. Cooke was sending emails to the female victim who had an order of protection against him. When officers arrived to arrest him, he struggled against them, adding resisting arrest charges to his arrest.
####Police find marijuana and methamphetamine during car search
CPD officers were dispatched at 12:23 a.m. Thursday in response to a suspicious vehicle parked at the Petro Mart located on Falling Leaf Lane. Jimmy Penry, 35, and a female subject occupied the vehicle. Penry was seated in the front passenger side but said he owned the vehicle. Once Penry identified himself, officers realized there was a warrant out for his arrest on a theft charge. Officers received consent to search the vehicle and found a small bag of marijuana and a small amount of methamphetamine in the console. Penry was arrested on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
