If you watch enough of “Chopped,” Food Network’s competitive cooking show that revolves around making dishes in small amounts of time, you eventually pick up on the typical dishes the chefs choose to create. For dessert, the finalists nearly always make a Napoleon — a dish made up of layers of pastry and whipped cream that is often served with some kind of fruit. As college students, we are not equipped with world-class ingredients or a five-star kitchen. Instead, we make do with what we have — and the college Napoleon is pretty amazing. It is full of light flavors that belong in a restaurant, not a dining hall.
Ingredients:
2 marshmallow treats
1/3 cup of soft serve
1 sliced banana or 5-6 peach slices
Drizzling of caramel
1 spoonful of whipped cream
Directions:
Place the 2 marshmallow treats next to each other on a plate. Add a small amount of soft serve on top of one piece and layer either banana or peach on top of the soft serve. You can also use any nearly any other berry or fruit instead of banana or peach. Place the other treat on top of the fruit and soft serve then add a dollop of whipped cream. Drizzle some caramel over it and enjoy.
