Hey, MOVErs!
It’s time again for the True/False Film Festival: When CoMo turns into the best place in the country for art junkies, documentary fans and super chill hipsters. True/False is one of the coolest events Columbia has to offer, and as students, it’s only a short walk to a documentary that could potentially be nominated for an Academy Award.
At the Oscars last Sunday night, two of the films in the Best Documentary category, [“The Look of Silence”](http://thelookofsilence.com/) and [“What Happened, Miss Simone?”](http://www.sundance.org/projects/what-happened-miss-simone) were both from True/False. [“Boyhood,”](http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/boyhood/) which was nominated for six Academy Awards, played at True/False in 2014. In 2013, “Twenty Feet from Stardom” played here, and it went on to win the Oscar for Best Documentary.
If you don’t know which movies to see, check out our film quiz. Busk a MOVE and spend some time with the super cool buskers downtown, or head over to Courthouse Square to party with the March March parade on Friday. See a film about the fetish world of endurance tickling or shorts about hopeless searches for love. True/False is a time to experience new things.
We’ll see you at the festival, MOVErs.
Peace, love and kickass documentaries,
Katie and Elana
