Missouri men’s basketball had lost its previous three games by a combined 63 points, but 49 of those came in a historically bad loss against No. 1 Kentucky on Jan. 13.
One can now add another 12 points to that sum. The Tigers fell to Texas A&M 62-50 on Wednesday in Reed Arena in College Station.
Two-and-a-half minutes into the second half, Mizzou held a seven-point lead. But the Aggies stormed back with a 13-0 run, which transformed into a 24-5 run, giving them a healthy lead which they never let go of.
With the loss, Mizzou remains winless on the road (0-4). The fourth straight loss plummets the Tigers to 6-10 on the season and 1-4 in Southeastern Conference play. Meanwhile, the Aggies improved to a 12-5 mark, and 3-3 in conference action.
Here’s what we noted from Mizzou’s fourth loss in nearly two weeks:
**Anderson starts Post**
Senior forward Keanau Post was given his first start of his career at Mizzou on Wednesday. Post played 20 minutes, finishing with four points and two rebounds on top of two blocks. This stat line stopped with 4:29 left in the game, when Post fouled out of the game.
Post is averaging 3.7 points per game on the season, but he has been hot of late, scoring seven points per game in his last five contests. However, Post only saw 12 minutes on the floor in a loss against Tennessee last Saturday.
**Clark completes his best game**
Sophomore guard Wes Clark scored 18 points Wednesday, two more than his previous game-high of 16 points. Clark also dished out six assists, and performed exceptionally on defense with five steals.
Clark shot 4-of-6 on 3-pointers.
**Tigers solid from three-point range**
Coming into Wednesday’s game, Mizzou was shooting .345 from 3-point range and ranked sixth in the SEC in both made threes and percentage of threes made. The Tigers went 8-17 against the Aggies, good for a .471 clip.
However, this clip could have ended up much better Wednesday night. The Tigers missed five straight 3-point attempts before Clark made one in the game’s final minute
**Bello is back**
After missing six games due to academic reasons, junior guard Deuce Bello returned to action for the Tigers. Bello went scoreless in five minutes on the court in the loss.
