The Tigers finished with a total score of 907 in the Kentucky-hosted Invitational
Missouri Women’s Golf kicked off their season at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational at the University of Kentucky on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
The Tigers saw a decrease in their team score from round one to round two. In round one, Missouri found themselves in a tie for fourth place overall, scoring a plus-15. In the second round, the Tigers improved their score but still moved down the leaderboard, posting a plus-9 score and bumping them down to No. 6 overall with a plus-24 score through two rounds.
Regardless, the Tigers still maintained a top-10 sport in the final round shooting a team score of plus-19, sliding them down the leaderboard to No. 8 overall.
Sophomore Fleur van Beek led the way for the Tigers, finishing with a four-over-par score, landing her in the No. 10 spot with a total score of 220.
University of Arkansas transfer and senior Ffion Tynan kicked off her second season as a Tiger by finishing No. 27 on the leaderboard, posting a 10-over-par round.
Junior Jade Zamora finished No. 34 overall with a score of 12-over-par.
Junior Addie Dobson’s performance in the final round led her to climb the ranks on Tuesday, moving up six spots to No. 46. Dobson shot a 4-over-par and a total of 17-over-par.
Although her score doesn’t count toward the final Tiger tally, hitting individually, freshman Irene Garcia Sanchez placed No. 60 and scored a plus-25.
Texas Christian University finished at the top of the leaderboard as a team, scoring a 7-over-par, followed by the Kentucky Wildcats in second with a 19-over-par. The University of Houston trailed in third with a plus-24 scoring a total of 888.
The next step for the Tigers will be hosting the Johnie Imes Invitational from Sept. 23-24 at their home course, The Club at Old Hawthorne.
